ACTIVISTS ADDRESS MCVEIGH KILLING HEAD ON

Activists say, "It's NOT About McVeigh"

Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (CUADP) has been working for almost a year with activists on the ground in Terre Haute and Indiana in preparation for the first federal execution.

In conjunction with the Journey of Hope ...From Violence to Healing, Inc. (http://www.journeyofhope.org), an organization of murder victim's family members who oppose the death penalty, CUADP director Abe Bonowitz will arrive in Terre Haute on the Journey bus, known as "Abolition Movin'," in advance of the next scheduled killing date to continue working with the Terre Haute Abolition Network and other abolitionists.  Bonowitz will be traveling with Journey co-founders Bill Pelke and George White, all of whom are available for comment now, and in Terre Haute.

Statement of Journey of Hope ...From Violence to Healing, Inc.

The Journey of Hope...From Violence to Healing is an organization that is led by murder victim's family members who oppose the death penalty in all situations. Journey members share their stories of 'from violence to healing' and tell how the death penalty has nothing to do with the healing that murder victim's family members need when a loved one has been killed.  The death penalty only continues the cycle of violence and creates more murder victims family members. Society has a right to be safe from people like Timothy McVeigh who commit heinous crimes. His arrest brought us that safety. We will not be any safer as a result of his execution.

We have seen enough killing.
