EXECUTION WATCH! If any prisoner-exterminations are scheduled to take place during the Fast & Vigil, they will be noted below. As in the past, The Fast & Vigil will focus attention on each killing around the time scheduled. Please plan to be present at the court at least ten minutes prior to the time specified.

DAILY HIGHLIGHTS PLEASE NOTE: Click on a persons name to see background on each speaker featured in the evening Abolition Teach-Ins. Please note that speakers are listed alphabetically and have all been confirmed, but nevertheless are subject to change. The order of speakers will not be determined until the F&V is under way. Other speakers may be added at any time, but we expect that no evening program will go past 9pm. Note that Saturday's program starts at 5:30pm, the others at 6:00pm. Those speakers who have books will be available to sign their books, and the books will be available at the AbolitionWear Table.
June 29	Thursday	Marks the anniversary of the 1972 Furman v. Georgia decision in which the U.S. Supreme Court found the death penalty to be applied in an arbitrary and capricious manner. F&V starts at 12:01am. Busloads of tourists just waiting for YOU to hand them a flier! Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring Ray Krone, Diann Rust-Tierney, Vicki Schieber, and Bonnita Spikes, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists.
June 30	Friday	Gregg Anniversary MEDIA EVENT at 10:30am. Busloads of tourists just waiting for YOU to hand them a flier! Join the roving vigil by checking out a museum or the Smithsonian's Folklife Festival WHILE WEARING ABOLITIONWEAR and leafletting DC crowds. (These activities can take place throughout the four days of the F&V.) Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring Death Row Survivor Gary Beeman, Darby Tillis, Illinois Death Row Survivor, Christina Lawson, and George White, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists.
July 1	Saturday	Busloads of tourists just waiting for YOU to hand them a flier! Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring Ron Keine, Bill Pelke, Magdaleno Rose-Avila, and Shari Silberstein, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists. Fast & Vigil becomes continuous with those who choose to do so maintaining the vigil overnight.
July 2	Sunday	Marks the 30th anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in Gregg V. Georgia, in which new death penalty laws were upheld and state-sponsored prisoner killings were allowed to resume. Busloads of tourists just waiting for YOU to hand them a flier! Join the roving vigil by checking out a museum or the Smithsonian's Folklife Festival WHILE WEARING ABOLITIONWEAR and leafletting DC crowds. (These activities can take place throughout the four days of the F&V.) 2pm to 3pm (or so) - RALLY FOR ABOLITION OF THE DEATH PENALTY, with a focus on the 30th ANNIVERSARY of the Gregg Decision - featuring death row survivors, murder victim family members, death row family members, and leaders of sponsoring organizations. Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring SueZann Bosler, Joan Cheever, Shujaa Graham, and others TBA, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists. Break the fast Midnight

 

DAY BY DAY SCHEDULE
We are fairly laid back at this event, and as such almost all times are approximate. The times when absolute punctuality will be observed are indicated with an *. Unless otherwise noted, all events are at the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).
June 28	Wednesday	*CCNV is available for check in from 1:00pm.   * 9:30pm - Last Supper: The Last Supper will take place at "Taverna The Greek Islands," which is located at 305 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, just down the street from the Library of Congress, and only three blocks from SCOTUS. They know who we are, they like us, we have a reservation, we can order off the menu again this year, there will be plenty of choices for vegetarians, and to quote the boss, "We will take care of you." Plan to spend $8 to $15, not including drinks. Everyone is welcome, even at the last minute. However space is limited, but we can expand. Please be sure to let us know if you are planning to attend so we can let the restaurant know what to expect. Thank you for your consideration.
June 29	Thursday	34th Anniversary of Furman decision.... *12:00am - Opening Gathering at SCOTUS (usually lasts about 30 minutes). *8:30am - Access to United Methodist Building *8:30am - Set-up/vigil begins 6:00pm - Abolition Teach-In - see schedule. 9:30pm - Begin shutting down for the day Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring Ray Krone, Diann Rust-Tierney, Vicki Schieber, and Bonnita Spikes, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists.
June 30	Friday	*8:30am - Access to United Methodist Building *8:30am - Set-up/vigil begins 10:30am - Press Conference on the 30th Anniversary of the Gregg decision and also on the 50th anniversary of the United Methodist Church becoming the 1st mainstream church in the U.S. to take a formal policy position opposing the death penalty. *6:00pm - Abolition Teach-In - see schedule  9:00pm - Begin shutting down for the day. Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring Death Row Survivor Gary Beeman, Darby Tillis, Illinois Death Row Survivor, Christina Lawson, and George White, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists.
July 1	Saturday	*8:30am - Set-up is complete/vigil becomes continuous *6:00pm - Abolition Teach-In - see schedule *Vigilers who wish will stay out all night. Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring Ron Keine, Bill Pelke, Magdaleno Rose-Avila, and Shari Silberstein, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists.
July 2	Sunday	30th Anniversary of Gregg v. Georgia 2pm to 3pm (or so) - RALLY FOR ABOLITION OF THE DEATH PENALTY, with a focus on the 30th ANNIVERSARY of the Gregg Decision - featuring death row survivors, murder victim family members, death row family members, and leaders of sponsoring organizations. 6:00pm - Abolition Teach-In - see schedule 11:15pm - Final gathering at SCOTUS Abolition Teach-In from 6:00 to 9pm, featuring SueZann Bosler, Joan Cheever, Shujaa Graham, and others TBA, with interludes by musicians and spoken word artists.
July 3	Monday	*12:01am - "Abolitionist Wedding" Reception and breaking the fast will immediately follow the wedding, featuring a meal lovingly prepared by the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker House. *11am - Everyone must be out of CCNV
